Emerald Travel Stories

Editorial policy

Emerald Travel Stories aims to make place-focused writing clear, careful and independent. We distinguish description from interpretation, avoid presenting uncertain details as settled fact, and make meaningful changes visible to readers.

Accuracy and context

We check factual claims against suitable information available to us and use precise wording when a detail is uncertain or may change. A vivid description is not proof of a broader claim about a place or its people. Readers should treat practical access details as subject to change and check current information before relying on them.

Independence

Editorial decisions are guided by relevance to the publication and the needs of readers, not by a promise of favourable coverage. A potential relationship that could affect how a story is understood is disclosed in the story or its accompanying notice.

Corrections

We welcome specific, verifiable corrections through the Contact page. When an error is confirmed, we correct it and add an explanation where the change could affect a reader's understanding. We may also clarify wording when it is accurate but unclear.

Partner material and illustrations

Paid placements and material created with a partner are identified clearly wherever they appear. A partnership does not guarantee editorial endorsement. Some illustrations may be generated with AI; when an illustration is AI-generated, we label it so readers can distinguish it from documentary imagery.

Our point of view

A place is more than a stop on the map

The best travel stories begin with attention: to a street's shape, a changing view or a detail that makes you pause.
