Write for us
We welcome considered pitches about travel and place: stories that help readers notice how a destination is arranged, what gives a building or landscape its character, or how a journey can leave room for observation.
What makes a strong pitch
Send a concise proposal with a working title, the central idea, the reader it serves and the details or examples that will make the piece vivid. Tell us why the subject suits Emerald Travel Stories and what makes your approach distinct. A focused idea with a clear point of view is more useful than a broad promise to cover a destination.
The work we welcome
We are interested in original essays, explanatory pieces and carefully shaped practical stories about places, landscapes, architecture, wayfinding and the habits of travel. Pitches should be specific, responsible and useful without depending on unsupported claims or access details that may quickly become outdated.
Sending a proposal
Send proposals through the Contact page and choose the editorial option. Please include a short summary and any relevant writing samples or links in your message. A proposal is not a commission; do not begin work on the assumption that it has been accepted.
A place is more than a stop on the map
The best travel stories begin with attention: to a street's shape, a changing view or a detail that makes you pause.
